Leadership Brevard Class of 2018
It’s Not ALL fun and games…

Working together without alignment is cooperation, not collaboration.
-Brant Menswar, Managing Partner, Banding People Together
Banding People Together (BPT) is a performance improvement company consisting of a select group of ‘rock stars’ that help organizations align people and process to control business outcomes. Menswar is also an award winning singer/songwriter whose voice has been described as “gritty and magnificent” by industry titans like Billboard and Sirius/XM Radio. Using BPT’s unique methodology blend of science and music, Brant led the class members on a path of understanding collaboration and their own blends of how they ‘sound’ when they collaborate.
True collaboration is a process that creates alignment and increases productivity by amplifying the collective strengths of a group.
Based on the Collaborative Harmony Index leadership assessment that measures collaborative behaviors; the Franks, Jimmie’s, Bruce’s and Lady Gaga’s were led through the explanation of ‘who do you sound like when you collaborate’? This morning session outlined the concepts of Voice, Contributions and Commitment as necessary elements of true collaboration. The website for more information on BPT is here: www.bandingpeopletogether.com

Buffet lunch on site at the Canterbury Retreat & Conference Center provided an opportunity for class members to compare notes about their collaborative style with others as they prepared for the afternoon activities.
Ties That Bind, a Titusville group that facilitates the outdoor challenge (ropes) course at Canterbury was right on time (like always!) and organized the class into teams – ‘on the ground’ or ‘low ropes’ exercises and challenges were presented for each team to solve, using their leadership skills and newly acquired knowledge of their collaborative behaviors! Low ropes led to high ropes for those that care to ‘push the envelope’ with support from Ties that Bind ground crews and other Leadership Brevard class mates. It’s an atmosphere of personal accomplishment; no matter what level of challenge is chosen. Check out the photos!
